Where I'll be In July..

July 8 [1430] - Talk on Research Methodology

Finally Start..

Finally..I've declared my self as a 'Permanent Head Damage' student after I've completed my registration on Friday, 1st August 2008. Woo hoo! Now this means my reading and researching must get much more serious. But that's OK because I've always wanted to finish my study within 3 years or less. I wish I could write my thesis quickly with the precision required. And that I really uncover something new and don't simply write a report of my subject. Finally starting to think 'that' things that would damage my head permanently :p

My "Superb"Visor

Let me introduce you to my 'superbvisor' Dr. Zainal Abidin Bin Akasah. How 'Superb' he is..? you can simply judge by yourself. Based on my previous-previous meeting with him, I know he is such a simple nice man, soft spoken and not 'cerewet' type of person la. You can find more information about him below

Dr. Zainal Abidin Akasah is an experienced academician in engineering education with over twenty five years of teaching experience in higher education. He is currently the Head of Department of the Building and Construction Engineering in the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He obtained his Doctorate from the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) with his thesis related to the Maintenance Management Process Model for School Buildings. Prior to that he obtained his MSc. in Building Technology from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, his Bachelor of Technology with Education in Civil Engineering from UTM and his Diploma in Architecture from the same University.

Dr Zainal Abidin Akasah teaches several subjects in civil engineering namely, Intelligent buildings; Acoustics, Lighting and Vibrations in Building and Engineering Drawing and CAD. He is also actively involved in consultancy and the training of trainers. Dr. Zainal Abidin Akasah is currently a recipient of several research grants. His research interests are in the application of IT in architectural engineering, 3-D Visualization applications in building engineering, Computer Aided Design, and facilities management and maintenance, process modelling and engineering education.

After A Long Time...

I took about a year off from writing, which isn't very long compared to what I think. When I was child I always wrote. My parents and everyone else says I have a gift but I don't know how to use it you know. I want to use my writing to the best of my abilities. When I actually tried to figure out why it was that I had stopped writing, I realized it was because a lot of variables had been changed. I came to the conclusion that I think clearer and come up with better ideas when I write late at night. My old job allowed me the freedom to stay up all night and write, but my new one did not. So, I played around with my schedule and allowed myself some time late at night to just sit down and write. That was just one variable that I had to play around with in order to be able to write again. I hope I would be another Victor Hugo who could influenced millions of people through my writings :)

What This Is All About?

Well..I contribute the web blog, maintain it and give away my own ideas :) My intention is to share my experience as honestly as I know how. I could never decide whether to make this a personal blog or a site for information and social networking. Therefore, it has mostly been a mix. But the point is, this blog will provide info’s about a journey of my research. Plus, I'll add new material such as my lab activities, book reviews and the occasional article that's just too long for the blog :-) Any additions are welcome, no matter wether it is a file for the collection of locally available files, a link to an interesting info's somewhere on the web or an article about any topic concerning customization. Your contributions are always greatly appreciated.

Bit About Me

Let give me a try to see what kind of image you have about me through my self description. I hope my impression about myself and your impression about me are not too different. Okay, here we go.

My name is Mohammad Ashraf bin Abdul Rahman a.k.a. Shy. I am now 25 years old this year. I was born on November 2nd, 1983. I live in a small boring town called Kluang. i come from a small family of 2 siblings and of course my lovely parents. People said that I am friendly and active person. As for my academic background, I made it with Diploma in Building Surveying from MARA University of Technology. Then I persue my degree in the same field at the same University before I managed to complete my post graduate study in Master of science in Building Technology at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Yet, I am doing my Ph.D in Civil Engineering at University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia.

I am a person who is positive in all aspects of life. There are many thing that I like to do, to see and to experiment. I like to read, I like to write, I like to think, I like to dream, I like to talk, I like to listen, I like all genre of music and of course I like my life much much more.As for hobby, things that we are supposed to do during our spare time, some people just know what they want out of life. But not for me. I had an evaluation of hobbies. When I found what is fascinated about a particular hobby, my interest fizzles out. So off, I need to search again for something else of interest. So far, backdoor activities are my current interest.

I always wanted to be a great academician like Prof. DiRaja Ungku Aziz, Prof. Emeritus Khoo Khai Kim as well as Tun Dr. Mahathir. I also want to be a great psychologist like William James and Sigmund Freud who could read people's mind. Of course I am nowhere close to these people yet. I am just someone who does some teaching, some research and some writing. But my dream is still alive.

This is a brief introduction of myself. Do not expect too much, and keep your sense of humor.
